ABOUT JULIET
Watch a 20 second video of me on YouTube here.
Hi blog friends! I’m Juliet Parrott-Merrell – Temecula California resident, Portland, Oregon native and cute cartoon artist. These days, due to chronic health issues that need a fair amount of TLC, I spend most of my time sitting at our kitchen table taking it easy – enjoying warm creamy cups of coffee, eating snacks and going back and forth between drawing Cute Snail, playing solitaire and watching YouTube videos or TV.
My favorite shows to Watch nowadays are Wagon Train, The Virginian and other classic westerns. I also enjoy Linus The Lionhearted and other vintage cartoons, as well as the original Quantum leap and many other classic television treasures.
My husband Paul and I are also avid baseball fans. The San Diego Padres are our home team, but we also enjoy the LA Dodgers and many other teams.
When my health and power wheelchair are up to it, and accessibility allows. I enjoy exploring the outdoors. Most of my exploration these days is relegated to strolls around our neighborhood. But when I can I enjoy going to city parks and other neat community spaces.
I also create and post coloring pages, postcards and coloring books when I feel up to it and time allows as well.
For those of you who would be interested, I was born with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy and use a power wheelchair because of it. I also only see partially out of one eye. My other eye was removed a few years ago due to complications from an eye stroke and glaucoma. I also love cats, rainbows, flowers, sunshine, coffee, sweet whimsical pictures and funny and sarcastic memes.
ALSO, gifting people my art and other creations, as well as bringing them brightness and good cheer, is my love language. Like my aunt Jo often says about her quilting, “If you got a quilt from me, you know i think you’re special.” I feel the same way about the art I create.

ABOVE IS THE FIRST DRAWING OF CUTE SNAIL I COMPLETED. If you’d like to download the coresponsing coloring page, you can do so in our Payhip store here.
ABOUT CUTE SNAIL
Cute Snail came to me on a whim one day – after I’d seen a group of Snails sweetly enjoying some popcorn on The Snail Hospital instagram feed. She was the answer to a prayer I’d recently put in about simplifying my drawing, workload and creative process such that it all felt easier, more fun and less overwhelming.
“Dear God, could you please send me something that feels easy and fun to draw such that I can simplify my drawing and streamline my workload?”
It took a few months, but my prayer was answered. Not only did Cute Snail feel easy and fun to draw – she was also sweet, whimsical, charming, versatile, relatable and original to my own hand – which is an asset to any artist.
Cute Snail and I started our journey by committing to creating at least 12 drawings together – one for each month of the year. Our finished body of work culminated into a calendar at the end of 2025. In between drawings we also created postcards and stickers for everyone to enjoy.
But then, the platform we were using to make and showcase all our SNAIL-TASTIC creations suddenly began to take an unforeseen business direction that we no longer felt comfortable being a part of. So we moved our party over to Payhip and have been sharing updated cards, coloring pages and coloring books over there ever since.
The personalized postcards, stickers and calendars we created are still available for sale over on Zazzle Dot Com however.
